Speed Bumps

I was having so much fun driving around on the weekend
and a thought struck me.

What do speed bumps make us do?

We could fly over them to land with a rumble and tumble.
Apologies to passengers required.

Under a lungful of air mumble and grumble, wrench the gears.
Bounce and rattle.
Apologies to passengers required.

Use a stronger language than mumble and grumble.
While the gear stick almost flies out the window.
A personal and private quake follows.
Apologies to passengers required.

Attract and entertain the opposite of calm thoughts.
The plot to kill takes form.
Apologies to self required.

Or

On sight
we could change gears,
slow down and sail over them smooth like a baby’s bottom.
No apologies required.

Life is comparable. If you do the math.
